Liquid Nitrogen elevator transport rules
Any transport of Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) using elevator has to be done according to following rules ONLY:
Due to security reasons, it is in principle forbidden to use LN2 in the elevators. For transporting large volumes of LN2 use only the large elevator (LBE) with the elevator key. This prevents other people to use the elevator during the LN2 transport.
The procedure is as follows:
- Insert the key into the keyhole in elevator.
- Turn the key in ‘Reservation’ position.
- Select the floor.
- Use the staircase to pick up the LN2 tank in the particular floor you selected.
- Turn the key in the starting position – the middle position – and remove it from the keyhole.
People, who will need the elevator key, will get an introduction and have to sign ‘LN2 elevator transport rules’ form. Persons using the elevator key are fully responsible for the key and have to return it immediately after the LN2 transport is finished on the key storage place.
