Scientific background
Tommaso completed his PhD in Materials Science in 2019 at Central Michigan University. He joined IST Austria as a member of EMF in 2019.
Role
His primary role at EMF is to support users with ad hoc training or to assist for the preparation and observation of materials with electron microscopes. The most common sample observed are nanoparticles, consolidated chalcogenides, silicon based chips, room temperature biological sections and replicas.
Specialization
Atomic resolution (TEM/STEM), electron diffraction, tomography, X-Ray microanalysis with STEM/SEM, lamella preparation with FIB, in-situ TEM (heating/biasing), 4dSTEM.
